The strength and balance of Justice inspired me to not only look to U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader-Ginsberg, but to her own words about standing on the shoulders of the brave women who came before her. The musical theme throughout this piece was created by turning her verbatim words, “I stand on the shoulders of those brave people,” into musical tones as close as possible to her actual speech.
